Smoke Build

• Torpedo DDs with unique Deepwater torps that only hit cruisers, BBs, and CVs, but in exchange get greatly reduced detection. Also carries Pan-Asia smoke or radar (radar starting at Tier 8). However their gun firepower is notably lacking at higher tiers
  • Mid-tier DDs are more versatile DDs with good gun firepower for their tier
• Pan Asian DDs take the universal DD build, balancing between guns and torps:
  • Tier 5-7 DDs can take a gunboat focused build instead. Trade Fill the Tubes and Consumable Enhancement for 4pt gun range skill and Grease the Gears
  • Rong is a decent captain because of his improved SE skill. Sa Zhenbing is also good because of his improved Consumable Enhancement skill and the torpedo talent.
  • If you don’t have the Engine boost mod, use ERP
• Smoke Pan Asia DDs are potent torpedo DDs that can throw out walls of deadly stealthy torps if left unchecked. Low gun DPM puts them at a disadvantage in early DD gunfights, so bring back up if you plan on fighting other DDs. Also consider going to the flanks to set up early torpedo attacks. Help out with eliminating other stealthy DDs. Once they are gone, your torps will devastate the unlucky big ships.

Yue Yang Unique Upgrade

Radar Build

• Radar Pan Asia DDs run a gun focused build to quickly kill other DDs
  • RPF is a strong alternative to FB to hunt down other DDs. Many players underestimate how valuable this info is at setting up the initial DD bump.
  • Rong is a decent captain because of his improved SE skill. Sa Zhenbing is also good because of his improved Consumable Enhancement skill and the torpedo talent.
  • If you don’t have UU, or the ship isn’t Yue Yang, run Concealment Module
  • Highly recommended to run radar mod to maximize your radar duration
• Radar PA DDs are a completely different beast from their smoke counterparts. They are high risk high reward ships, able to hunt down other stealthy DDs, but can die just as quickly if misplayed. Ideally you want to fight other DDs in the early game, preferably with support like another DD or a Venezia. If the enemy DD smokes up, activate your trap card and finish him off before he can escape. Be very careful in which fights you take. Don’t be afraid to decline fights if there are too many enemy guns pointed at you. Once the problem DDs are dealt with, play the rest of the battle like a torpedo DD.
