FR torpedoboat DDs (Cassard Line)

• Torpedo focus line whose long range torps deal more damage when closer to the target. French saturation and respectable guns lets them gun down other universal DDs, but lack of smoke makes disengaging difficult.
• This build focuses on the main strength of these DDs, which is their torpedoes, while retaining some ability for self-defence.
  • RPF is fine if you prefer more info, trade BFT and Swift Fish
  • FB is also fine if you want better DPM to fight other DDs, trade Fill the tubes and Swift Fish
  • Honore is a decent captain because of his improved AR skill. Auboyneau is also good because of his improved SE skill and the capture talent.
  • Engine Boost is highly recommended on Cassard. Take ERP for the lower tier tech tree ships
• Cassard line plays similarly to other torp DDs, but trades smoke for better guns and french saturation. You can take gunfights against isolated non-gunboat DDs in the early game, but be very careful. You have no smoke to quickly disengage fights if you use your guns. Otherwise it’s typical torp DD gameplay: spot enemies, torp big ships, take unguarded caps, and gunfight when you have the advantage.
  • Torpedo damage drop off mechanics apply starting at Tier 8. Torps will deal max damage up to ~6-8km, then gradually fall off to roughly ~40% damage at max range
• Applies to L’Adroit, Duchaffault, Le Hardi, L’Aventurier, Orage and Cassard.
