Châteaurenault

• Tier 10 French DD with spammable 20km torps, but prefers to be up close to maximize her torp damage. Relatively high concealment and poor gun DPM hurts her performance if she has to fight enemy DDs.
• Châteaurenault uses a modified torpedo build, very similar to Cassard
  • RPF useful for avoiding unwanted DD fights.If you are confident in your DD tracking, take SiS or FB instead
  • You can use Cassard’s build if you don’t want to dedicate a captain
  • Auboyneau has good synergy as Chate can take caps (after the enemy DD is dead) and torps can threaten dev strikes. Honore is always a solid option
• Châteaurenault plays like a cross between Cassard and Leg mod Kleber with a hint of 20km Shimakaze. She is a close range torpedo DD, preferring to torp enemy ships within 8km to maximize damage while the 20km torp range allows for more conservative play if getting close is too dangerous. While enemy DDs are your main threat, French saturation and high HP pool lets you trade blows if you have allied support. Keep enemies spotted while your torps do the damage.
  • Chate torps deal max damage up to 8km, past 8km they deal half damage
  • Chate’s HE has 26mm HE pen, it will pen almost all DD side plating and most cruiser bow/stern
