Alaska

• Tier 9 Alaska is a American Large Cruiser that smashes broadside targets with 305mm AP shells while 10km radar punishes aggressive DDs. She is a versatile easy-to-use platform with the tools to deal with almost any situation, whether it is pushing, kiting or simply not dying (as fast).
• Alaska uses a modified US CA build
  • If you are comfortable without PT, use Consumables Enhancements
  • Halsey or the Doe brothers are great for their improved Gun Feeder skills. If you don’t run a captain with improved GF, consumable specialist is a fine alternative
  • Standard US CA build is fine if sharing captains with other tech tree US CAs
  • If you don’t have radar mod, use hydro mod or DCSM1
    • Hydro mod is fine if you find the 35s radar duration sufficient
• While Alaska is well rounded, she stands out from other large cruisers thanks to her long 10km radar and improved AP shells. She can play up close, using islands as cover and radar to guard caps. Or she can play more open water, using HE to burn down ships and switching to AP to punish broadside cruisers and BBs.
  • Alaska AP has improved penetration angles, often punishing enemies who don’t respect their angling
  • Alaska hull is hard to citadel, lowering the risk of a dev strike if enemies catch your broadside
